We love the look of these hanging floral lines as backdrops for anything from a sweets table to a ceremony. They are simple and sweet yet add the perfect pop of color to a bare wall without being too busy! You can also use a mix of all of the flowers in your wedding to tie in your decor. Making one is super fun and easy to do. Since the flowers hang down, you don’t have to worry about keeping them wilting. You might want to stay away from white flowers though, as they tend to brown when out of water for too long! If you aren’t sure, try a test at home to make sure they will hold up on your wedding day! We love the look of these extra dark reds and oranges and plums because they add to the contrast with the white wall, which really allows them to pop! If you are set on white flowers, you could always mix in some silk flowers!
What You’ll Need : Ribbon / Scissors / Assorted flower stems
First, trim all of the extra greenery off of your stems that you downy want. You may want to leave a few small leaves on each stem, or you may choose to clean them all off.
Next, lay out your stems in the order you want to hang them. The largest and heaviest stems should go in the middle, and the smallest on the sides.
Then, leaving a length of ribbon at each end to hang the flowers on the wall, tie the stems with an equal distance of ribbon between, straight across your arrangement. The line will naturally droop in the center.
Then, trim all of the stems so that they are about the same distance from the ribbon, or leave them at odd lengths for a more eclectic look.
Carefully gather the stems and the ribbon to take to the wall. To prevent the stems from tangling, you may want to grasp the ribbon at each end and carry it with your arms outstretched.
Using nails or tacks, tie the ribbon onto the wall. Slide the stems up and down until you have the perfect composition.
