When you take a beautiful southern city and combine it with rich fall colors you get one amazing rustic style Virginia wedding. From the bride: Richmond, VA and it’s historic charm was partially the inspiration for what we called our very vintage richmond wedding. Our wedding colors were chocolate brown, burnt orange and champagne to play off our fall wedding. It was an Art Deco era vintage meets Old City Rustic Charm themed wedding. Our wedding ceremony location was a public park overlooking the city, so we let the historic city dictate the decor and the park landscape, taking a very minimalist and natural approach to the ceremony. Thanks to Lucia Belle Photography for sharing these pictures with us today.
Our flower girls were dressed like little fall woodland fairies complete with tutu’s and hair wreaths. My wedding dress was all lace complete with a lace mantilla a throw back to vintage times and a homage to my family’s Puerto Rican culture. We based our stationary on this Art Deco theatre and had our wedding invitations look like movie tickets with vintage scroll, and our escort cards were designed to be the admittance tickets and were distributed in the historic box office of the theatre.
Much of the decor was rustic looking items artfully paired with extremely elegant and chic touches, our tables were all named for different historic areas of the city that we loved and had historical facts about each place and our favors were small bags of tri-flavored popcorn.
