Every bride needs a little help when it comes to planning their rustic wedding. We have a very popular feature here at Rustic Wedding Chic called Ask Maggie where we encourage our readers to send in their questions when searching for a little advice or inspiration. We thought we would share the latest one with you today!
Rustic Wedding Chic Reader: I am getting married in the country and have limited options for linen rentals. I had my heart set on having my tables look great and I really did not want to end up with just the simple white tablecloths. Can you help me come up with some ideas how to enhance the simple white tablecloths that I will be renting?
Maggie’s Response: I too got married in a country spot and had a rustic wedding and faced a similar issue. With the lack of rental options for linens available to you here is my best advice (by the way this also works if you do have tons of rental options). Go with the simple white or off white table linens and then decide to take on a little project to enhance the table look. Head to your local fabric or craft store or purchase some fabric online- make sure to pick something interesting since you will want this fabric to make a bit of a statement and have an overall decor impact. Search for fabrics that are a bit unique like ginghams, plaids, checked, a woodland print with a nature theme, or go with more natural fabric like burlap or linen. Don’t take on doing an entire tablecloth; creating a table runner is much easier. Measure out your tables, leaving a little extra fabric to hang down on each end of the table, roll out your fabric to the correct length and cut using pinking sheers. By using the pinking sheers you will avoid having to sew the edge. The pinking sheers should keep the fabric from fraying as long as you don’t wash it after cutting it. Here is a great example of table runners that you can use for inspiration.
