How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal!
“We met on a dating app back in 2016. Our first date was at a restaurant in downtown Atlanta. The food was just ok and we decided we probably wouldn’t go there again. Fast-forward to the Fall of 2020, Stu planned a night out to celebrate my birthday coming up in a few days. He told me one of his plans fell through so we needed to kill some time downtown. He suggested we stop by that same restaurant for a quick drink since it was right around the corner. I was skeptical since we had pledged never to go back, but I went along with it. Because of COVID, the restaurant was only sitting people outside, but oddly (to me), they allowed us to sit alone in the restaurant…in the same booth we sat in on our first date. After about an hour, Stu got up to go to the bathroom, and I looked up to see my friend walk-in recording me. When I looked back confused, Stu was down on one knee proposing! It was a wonderful full-circle moment.” – Tiffany
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
“It’s hard to describe how special it was to be in the same room with our friends and family after a year in lockdown. When we came down that spiral staircase, we could feel the energy and the love. That feeling came second only to our time alone on the venue helipad while we took pictures before the reception. We had a few minutes to just be alone with each other, looking out on the Atlanta skyline as the sunset, and it was so wonderful.” – Tiffany
How did you both choose your wedding day look?
“We are complete opposites when it comes to fashion. Stu is basically the body type for fashion designers – tall and lean – so he loves fashion and loves the details from the fabric to the function of a particular pant. He spent several weekends looking for the perfect suit and decided he would wear a sleek black tux, while his groomsmen wore a dark blue variation. I value comfort above all else, so a simple clean look was the only option I considered, despite my maid of honor insisting that I try on lacy, glittery, ballroom dresses!” – Tiffany
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
“Planning can take over your life and make you miserable. I wish I had stressed less and enjoyed the process of planning. Ultimately, all of the little details were a nice touch, but having a good DJ, a full bar, and carbs on the menu were the essentials that mattered. Spend the money on a good photographer – you’ll cherish those memories more than the string quartet or the random trinkets you bought on Etsy. Most importantly, do what YOU want. It’s your day to celebrate your love, so if you want to wear sneakers (or have to) with your 8-foot train, do it!” – Tiffany
