A backyard wedding at home always seems to have a special romantic feel about it. This Richmond, Virginia rustic wedding features a couple who infused their big day with classic country chic details along with DIY projects. One of the highlights from this wedding for me is the mason jar place cards which are pinned on a cork board display. Thanks again to PS Davis Photography for sharing this wedding with us. Richmond Virginia Rustic Backyard Wedding: Sara + Brandon

Sara and Brandon were married at Brandon’s parents’ house in Richmond, Virginia in a classic rustic backyard style affair.  Their wedding was truly a unique and gorgeous DIY feat and was headed by Sara who has since gone into business for herself making wedding invitations!  From the bride: I got into making invites because i loved making all the paper products for my wedding like the invites, the escort cards, and the programs. I loved the whole process designing and making something no one else had and that matched the feel we wanted for our wedding. Thanks to PS Davis Photography for sharing this amazing wedding with us. New Hampshire Backyard Wedding: Leia + Jon

A backyard rustic style wedding is one of my favorite types of wedding themes. There is nothing as special as getting married either at your own home or at the home of someone special. Today’s rustic wedding took place in the beautiful state of New Hampshire and features amazing DIY elements and breathtaking photography. Thanks to Dreamlove Wedding Photography for sharing these wedding pictures with us today. Here is some behind the scenes info from the photographers: Jon and Leia had a gorgeous rustic wedding in their eventual backyard to be near Lake Sunapee New Hampshire. They are in the process of re-building their future home on a historic house site and they thought it was the perfect place to host their wedding. Their property is a genuine piece of 19th century New England farmstead. With a classic New England dirt road lined with towering maple trees AND an apple orchard on the property, the setting for their big day was brimming with rustic charm.Sources – photography: Dreamlove Wedding Photography / venue: private residence / wedding gown: Alfred Angelo / bridesmaid dresses: Alfred Angelo / catering: Lemay & Sons – Goffstown, NH / decor & floral design: DIY

Rustic DIY Wedding: Anna + Madison

This beautiful backyard do it yourself style wedding has some ideas that I know you will want to incorporate into your wedding day. In part one we saw the magical evening outdoor ceremony and the amazing wedding flowers that were put together like everything else at this wedding by the bride and groom and their helpers. Pulling off a DIY rustic wedding is not easy since you are responsible for all of the decor, flowers, food and more but when you surround yourself with people who can help than a DIY wedding is not a chore but a fun experience. Rustic DIY Wedding: Anna + Madison

At the bottom of each wedding feature I list all of the vendors who played a role in making that wedding come to life, this wedding the vendor list will be super short, in fact it won’t have any except the photographer. Everything you see in this wedding was either made or put together by the two families involved. This rustic DIY wedding took place at the family home of the groom in the great southern state of Georgia. How is this for talented, the mother of the bride made both the wedding cake and the wedding gown, that is one decided and skilled mom.  Guests arrived on the grounds for this wedding and followed lit torches to the ceremony site as the sun fell and then a 9:30 in the evening ceremony took place. If these details alone did not make you fall in love with the wedding I am sure these wedding pictures will. Backyard California Wedding: Desiree + Ben

Backyard weddings come in all sizes and take place at locations all over the place but no matter what size they are or where they take place one thing always seems to be true, they are so personal. Today’s real wedding took place the brides’s parents home in Ontario, California and features a deep purple color theme and a casual yet beautiful reception. One of the perks of doing your wedding at home is that you get to have control over the entire design and often couple get to build their day from the ground up. This backyard rustic wedding showcases long wedding tables, a poolside dinner and even some horses.
