Getting to share unique rustic weddings is just one of the many things I love about our real rustic weddings section. This amazing mountain wedding took place at the North Carolina wedding venue, Laughing Waters Retreat and features a one-of-a-kind outdoor wedding ceremony and a eco-chic style reception. Ellen and Micah are one of the coolest couples I have ever met! So it was no surprise that their wedding at the Laughing Waters Retreat in North Carolina was also the coolest wedding I have ever shot! They are big fans of nature and hiking so they decided to tie the knot in the mountains. They had so many unique elements to their special day. Instead of a traditional ceremony, they had their family and friends gather and stand in a circle around them as they exchanged their vows. During the ceremony they had a special portion were their family members came up and tied ribbons around their hands. Instead of hiring a DJ, they opted to do some square dancing instead. It was super fun to watch and document, and I love that all of their guest were able to participate and have a lot of fun too.
