When planing a rustic fall wedding it is so easy to get to get overwhelmed and not know exactly what direction to go in. Here are a few fall wedding ideas for a rustic wedding to help you focus your thoughts and start planning a fall wedding that will reflect your style. I know so many brides who start to plan a fall wedding and begin to throw everything fall-like (leaves, apples, pumpkins, harvest colors) into the wedding decor which can start to look cluttered and actually lose some of it beauty. Sometimes the less is more theory works really well for a wedding and I really feel that idea works great for the fall wedding decor.
Pick A Great Location
We all know that picking a unique wedding location is half the battle in wedding planning. When you are planning a rustic fall wedding I always suggest you look for a place that has both indoor and outdoor options. Fall temperature can swing anywhere between extremely hot and very cold. Barn wedding venues and spots like a vineyard can work for the fall season since most of those venues offer both indoor and outdoor locations. See our complete list of venues on the Rustic Wedding Guide.
Head To The Farmer’s Market
There are farmer’s markets located all over the country which are a great resource for things like pumpkins and apples. Instead of flowers think of having your centerpieces filled with fall favorites. We all know that pumpkins come in orange but there are also “Boo Pumpkins” which are all white and when stacked up in a vintage style vase they are stunning. If these centerpieces don’t do it for you check out our Rustic Wedding Centerpiece Ideas post.
Apple Wedding Favors
Candy apples are a staple of the fall season and your guests will be more than happy if you hand them out as your favor. You can work with local bakeries or farms to get the perfect candy apple wedding favor.
Use Hay As A Seating Option
Not that long ago if someone would have suggested hay as a seating option at a wedding people would have baulked at it but today it is crazy popular. We have had so many request for hay bale wedding ideas that we even dedicated an entire post to it which you can view here. From ceremony seating to just a fun place for guests to hang out, hay bales at weddings are great!
Pie
Pie, the ultimate comfort food and seems to be synonymous with the fall season is one of the hottest trends out there right now in rustic wedding desserts. Think about having a full “pie bar” where guests can pick their favorite flavor or end the evening by giving all your guest a mini pie to take home.
