Taking place at a beautiful barn wedding venue in North Carolina, this wedding transforms a typical looking barn into an elegant wedding space with drapes and a hanging chandelier. One of my absolutely favorite things about this wedding is the navy bridesmaid dresses which really stand out against the rustic backdrop and of course the sunflower wedding theme that is going on as well. From the photographer: I have a beautiful fall wedding held at a historic home in Smithfield, NC in front of an old stately barn on the property complete with long white drapes and a chandelier! It is very much the style of the weddings I’ve seen on your blog. The history of this couple is out of the ordinary as a few years ago the bride, Whitney was diagnosed with a rare brain condition and has undergone multiple invasive surgeries, Trey (her husband now) was her biggest supporter through it all. Trey and Whitney started out as “just friends” in high school. Six and a half years of dating later, their wedding took place on a cloudy day in October. Their ceremony was held in front of a beautiful rustic barn, with a handmade wooden cross as the focal point. Wooden signs with lines from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and flowers in mason jars lined the tree lined drive to the ceremony, which were done by the bride’s parents. Whitney had overcome two major surgeries while dating Trey, and he was her unwavering strength through it all. Their vows were truly special for their family and friends to witness, because they had already seen them face the “in sickness and in health” together. Their love is centered around their love for Christ, which was beautifully displayed on their wedding day.
