There is nothing like a wonderful backyard wedding and this couple did not stop there – they added in wonderful vintage DIY wedding ideas. This bride and groom really seemed to embrace how wonderful a small and intimate wedding can be. Here are a few thoughts from The Bride: Sierra City, CA is a tiny town in the Sierra Butte Mountains near where I grew up. The location allowed us to have a small, intimate wedding with close friends and family. The natural beauty of the mountains, lake, and river near where we did our ceremony served as the decoration and we didn’t add much to it except some ribbons which we hung from the trees and a TON of wildflowers and pussy willows that my Mom had gathered months earlier. We used the willows in the bouquets, the place settings–tied with the silverware and napkins, and even as the base for a wreath that my mom made for me. Thanks to Briana Morrison for sharing this wedding with us today.
The willows became the theme for the invitations and guest book which I made myself.” Your wedding was completely DIY. I made a bunch of loaves of bread the morning of the wedding because i knew i was going to be up early and would need something to do to keep me relaxed. The other food we made in the days before the wedding and then asked guests to bring a salad or dessert and a bottle of wine instead of presents.
We love the casual look of this backyard wedding reception which looks like one big family gathering and has just the sweetest feel about it. Consider having long wedding tables at your wedding – they can make it feel like a family dinner instead of just a big reception.
