Burlap Wedding Inspiration & Ideas

Remember our Rustic Wedding Inspiration post, well today we have another wonderful inspiration for you focusing on burlap, a clean color pallet and a tiny bit of sparkle. This inspiration really shows how you can have a country wedding but “dress it up” so as to achieve the elegance you desire. Burlap is one of the hottest trends out there right now for rustic and country weddings in main part due to its versatility. This inspiration demonstrate how it can be used as table runners, tied on chairs or even added as detail to your invite. Check out our burlap wedding invitations too!

One of the best things about this particular inspiration design is the use of white accents, it plays so well off of the burlap color. Think of heading out to your local flea market or antique shops to find old mirrors, candle holders or vases in the classic white color to help achieve this design look.

Another favorite country wedding idea that I always pass along to my brides is to make use of long tables. You can see here why this tip is so good – see how the long table allows you to use objects of varying height to add depth to the centerpieces. Think about stacking and building up with your decor.

The cake and wedding flowers can also be all white to help add that color contrast to your burlap. A white color pallet is clean and bright yet elegant and light looking.

Do you have a clever way of using burlap? Head over to our Facebook page and share your ideas with our community of rustic & country brides.

I am using burlap for the first time decoration my sons western themed engagement party but I don’t like the way it shreds so much,so I measured and drew the lines for the table runners with a pencil then went over the pencil lines with modge podge. When the podge was dry the lines were clearly visable,I then cut the burlap without any shredding! Afterwards, I used a stencil and white acrylic paint and did a beautiful border.I did the same process to make round placemats under the flower arrangements on the tables, the vases are mason jars painted white with white flowers, the stenciling is really stunning on the burlap!!

I love this layout! I would like to use this inspiration for my own wedding. Can you suggest where I can find the “blind candle holders” or something similar to it? Thank you!

Go to the thrift stors in your area and find candle holders of all shapes and sizes, then paint them white, also, you can find old jewelry there, necklaces and pins etc. that you can take apart and use to decorate the candle using wire, ribbon,or straight pins!
