Today’s real wedding is a super sweet California wedding with touches of vintage and country details. Morgan and Jake hosted their wedding at a California outdoor wedding venue called Walnut Grove At Tierra Rejada Ranch From the bride: When planning our wedding, one of the most important things to Jake and I was that our wedding felt like us. Despite my Southern California upbringing, I am a total country girl at heart! I love the family-oriented culture, the warmth of Southern hospitality and the natural beauty of the agricultural environment. I was thrilled when we discovered the Walnut Grove in Moorpark – a stunning orchard only 20 minutes away from home. Jake, although a city-styled guy himself, was sweet enough to encourage my dream. We quickly booked the Walnut Grove for our June wedding. Thanks to Karen L. Barnes Photography for sharing this wedding with us today.
Jake and I are both artists so we knew we wanted art to be a big influence for our special day. I painted our table numbers -each a different size and shape- with copper-metallic paint on unprimed canvas material and framed them each in gold frames I borrowed from my parents’ house. We attached chicken wire to the back of larger frames my mom purchased at an antique mart to hang seating arrangements and hung the frames from a tree branch in the venue’s cocktail area. We have always loved the idea of a photo booth but desired something a little more formal. To accomplish this, we hung a rustic gold frame from a tree branch with linen ribbon. During the cocktail hour, guests gathered in different groupings behind the frame with the breath-taking orchard as their backdrop. We were thrilled with the result!
