These carmel pear wedding favors are as delicious as they are beautiful! Everything you need to make them you can easily find at your local supermarket. We think they would make the perfect wedding favor at any time of year, especially winter or early spring when they are in season. Making them is relatively easy though you must try to keep them in a cool place at your venue to keep the carmel from getting too and melting off. I would avoid placing them in the sun! You can garnish them with chocolate, nuts or fleur de sel. We love the sparkle the salt gives these pears and the added flavor is delicious too! If you are looking for a yummy favor that you can make by hand this would be a perfect option. We also think these could be the perfect favor for a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner or as an addition to a welcome basket for out-of-town guests. We tagged them with the phrase ” A Perfect Pair” because who doesn’t love a good pun! Happy dipping!!
What you’ll need : Carmel / Water / Fleur de Sel / Baby Pears /Sauce Pot / Wooden Spoon / Parchment Paper / Boxes / Tags / Ribbon
Wash the pears, dry them and set them aside. Remove the caramels from their wrappers and combine in a sauce pot with a few tablespoons of water.
Heat the carmel while stirring until it melts into a consistent liquid. Be very careful because the carmel will be very hot at this stage!
Lay out parchment paper and carefully holding the pears by the stem, dip them one by one into the carmel, twirling them to cover the skin evenly. Then carefully place them down on the parchment paper.
Allow the carmel to cool until them pears easily lift off the parchment.
Holding them at an angle, sprinkle the base with pinches of the fleur de sel until it is sufficiently covered.
We placed each pear into a clear box, which we tied with ribbon and tagged each box. You could also put them in plastic gift bags, mason jars, or nest them in rustic cartons instead!
Refrigerate them if possible or keep them in a cool place until your wedding!
