Today’s real wedding has so many amazing rustic DIY wedding projects that I suggest you start writing down these ideas! With a beautiful peach, tan & grey color theme this wedding jumps off the page and defines rustic romance. From the bride: The wedding day decor was simple since we had such a beautiful venue to work with. I knew I wanted to make the decorations, and we didn’t want the wedding to be overly wasteful. Some of our DIY projects included: the table numbers made from twine and dowels, the banners made from fabric we had from other projects, the vases pulled together from our families’ recycled glass, and the cornhole set and huge flowers at the ceremony made from leftover construction materials from our apartment renovation. Thanks to Orchard Cove Photography for sharing this wedding with us today.
As for the overall style of the day, we wanted it to be elegant, yet casual and have a lot of our personalities included. We had apple confetti and ring holder for the Apple family and Chinese double happiness characters symbolic of my heritage. I also created a tiny drawing of Colin and I to be used throughout the wedding.

March 17, 2013 at 7:20 pmThanks so much for this great feature of our wedding! We had such a great time, and this brought back lots of great memories. And… since this is a DIY blog, I want to mention that Colin’s mom, Sally, did all of the flowers for the wedding. We were so honored to have her arrangements there!
