This wonderful DIY farm wedding took place at a New England farm and features elegance, beauty and romance all in one! From the bride: We really wanted our wedding to be laid back and fun and envisioned something with a summer backyard feel. Fortunately, we found and fell in love with Wright-Locke Farm, which provided us with a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony and set the perfect tone for our summer solstice wedding day. Thank to Sarah Jayne Photography for sharing this wonderful wedding.
I have always known I would do my own wedding flowers. I have been doing floral design on the side for family and friends for the last decade. I think everyone looked at me like I was nuts to want to do them myself. But it was really fun and even a bit therapeutic. While I was getting ready with my bridesmaids the morning of the wedding and finishing the bouquets, my husband, Andy was at the farm helping to set up. He used to be quite the rocker/dj in his early 20’s, so he actually provided all the music. Other personal and handcrafted touches included photographs of our lovable dog Luci, which served as table numbers, and wine cork and chalkboard signs. For our favors, and as a tribute to our love of all things pickled, we printed out a favorite recipe and included packets of cucumber and dill seeds for our guests.
Of course there was plenty that we knew needed to be left to the professionals; like our beautifully crafted invitations from Orange Dogwood, the perfect moments our photographer Sarah Jayne Photography captured, our incredible spread of food from Two Chefs are Better than One Catering. And a sweet indulgence and visit from the Cookie Monstah Food Truck was the perfect treat for our warm summer night.
