These tin lanterns are not only beautiful but super easy to make in large quantities. The tin paint cans can be found at Lowes, and are relatively inexpensive. Your choice of pattern will determine how they look when lit but there is really no wrong way to go! Polka dot and starburst patterns are beautiful but you could also try a chevron pattern or stripe! The size of the holes can also vary by simply changing the size of your drill bit. Happy drilling!!

2 ) Fill the can with tap water and place in freezer. The ice will help the cans hold their shape in the next step.

4) Allow water to melt and dry your drilled paint cans. To speed up the process, run them under hot water in the sink.
