I am a huge Kelly Clarkson fan so when I heard the Texas native singer just got engaged my mind started putting ideas together for the perfect elegant country wedding. Kelly announced her engagement via twitter to her boyfriend of the past year, Brandon Blackstock who is a talent manager and also the step-son of country music legend, Reba McEntire. So as Kelly and Brandon start to think about the type of wedding they are going to plan I thought I would offer some advice on the big day.
The first thing Kelly and Brandon will need to figure out is if they are going to have a large star studded event or if they are going to have a small and intimate wedding. Either way, a few choices will need to be made such as the wedding style, the venue, the dress, the favors and of course the overall decor. Below is the beautiful engagement ring that Kelly tweeted a picture of.
The Venue: The Historic Cedarwood In Nashville, TN
Even though this music star was born and raised in Texas, Kelly now calls Nashville home. Since making a crossover into the country music world, Kelly has been a fixture in the country music city. The Dress: Updated Classic
I would love to see Kelly go with a dress that is somewhat classic yet updated in a few ways. Based on this strapless dress that Kelly wore to the 2006 Grammy Awards I can see her in a strapless gown with a great skirt. I would love to see Kelly in the Gigi gown by Watters and add a great ribbon headband hairpiece also by Watters and then make it “country chic” by adding cowboy boots to the look. The Wedding Style: Southern Country Chic
I can see Kelly & Brandon deciding to go with a country chic wedding with a southern twist. The country wedding theme is in honor of Kelly’s home state of Texas and the southern twist on the wedding style would be a nod to the fact that the couple lives in Nashville.

The Favors: A Donation To One Of Kelly’s Charities
I can see Kelly deciding to give a donation in honor of the wedding day and not give a wedding favor to each guest. Kelly is a national celebrity ambassador of the March of Dimes and serves as Team Youth Ambassador since her American Idol debut. Kelly also can be seen supporting the March for Babies in awareness campaigns.
Wedding Day Decor: Country Chic & Yellow
Based on the fact that Kelly’s Engagement ring is yellow I can assume that she might like the soft color enough to add it to her wedding day decor. Going with a country chic theme and adding in beautiful yellow accents might just be the best way to go for this music star.
