This amazing wedding was able to blend together a rustic style with a traditional Indian wedding and ceremony and it is nothing short of breathtaking. The event planner calls it a “Boho-Chic Indian Fusion wedding” and we think that is a pretty good way to sum up all the beauty packed into this one wedding. This wedding took place in Aptos, CA with tons of DIY elements to it and was held at the bride’s parent house. Thank you to TanaRi Events and Third Element Photo Co for sharing this magical wedding with us today.
From the bride: Our ceremony, which took place the following day in the backyard of my parents’ house in Aptos, was the perfect embodiment of everything we had ever hoped our wedding could be. Gaurav, flanked by his family and friends, set a joyful tone for our ceremony, riding from our driveway to the ceremony site on a white horse as part of a traditional Indian Baraat ceremony. Once there, he was welcomed – literally and figuratively! – into my family’s home, and our two families symbolically became one as they exchanged garlands during our Indian milni ceremony. Finally, shadowed by a grove of tremendous redwoods, the two of us said our vows beneath a wooden mandap built by my father and lovingly decorated by our mothers. Being encompassed on all sides by our closest family and friends made the moment that much sweeter, and we both feel extremely lucky to have been able to celebrate the start of our lives together with such a magnificent weekend.
