Lovely details and a stunning barn wedding venue are just a few reasons we fell in love with this Midwestern rustic wedding. From the photographer: Wes + Lauren were married on a gorgeous October day at the beautiful Rum River Barn & Vineyard in Hillman, MN. The grounds feature several acres with a barn, hay crib, farm house, bridal suite building as well as vineyards and even campgrounds. Their ceremony site was in a clearing of trees behind the barn, with the sunset behind them as well. The wedding day featured a hybrid elegant and rustic esthetic – including lace-topped dresses, no jackets for the groomsmen, as well as corks, tree slices and burlap. Wes + Lauren were very DIY and crafty people, so they took a big part in creating the day as they saw fit – they bought flowers at the Farmer’s Market and created their own bouquets and boutonnieres, created and printed their own wedding invitations and table/name cards, designed and produced an oversized Jenga set for use in the gaming area.
