Located in the beautiful area of Richmond, Virginia today’s real wedding has a little farm style to it mixed with true rustic elegance. Taking place at Farvue this rustic wedding took place in a “party barn” with rolling hills as a backdrop. Thanks to Karen Seifert Photography for sharing these wonderful rustic wedding pictures with us. See more from this wedding.
Here is a little behinds the scene info from the bride & groom: We decided fairly quickly, we both wanted a Fall wedding. That meant wait 18 months, or work a littler harder and get it done in a little under 6. We went with option two, because in our opinion it never seems like people are less stressed during long engagements. It just seems like they are stressed for longer. We figured, in six months we wouldn’t have time to ask for different opinions on everything, and we wouldn’t have time to hem and haw over the little things. We’d ask each other something: “Do you like the idea of Mason jar lanterns?” And then we’d answer: “Yes.” Done. Decision made. No going back.
As guests arrived for the cocktail hour, they were greeted by our “welcome door,” literally a repurposed door that we got at one of our favorite stores, Class & Trash for $8. I built a stand for the door and we attached miniature versions of our table signs, classic green street signs with the names of streets in Richmond on which we’ve lived, or that are important to us with guest names below the street signs, so they’d know where to sit. In front of the door we placed a welcome mat, which we now use at home.Sources – photography: Karen Seifert Photography / venue: Farvue / wedding gown: Bride’s Dress: “Fern” by Melissa Sweet / bridesmaid dresses & shoes: ModCloth / invitation & menue: Zazzle / floral design: Flower Girl Inc. / cake: Jean Jacques / catering: Curbside Café / rental: Party Perfect
