Shelburne Farms Vermont Wedding: Emily + Dave

A wedding at The Coach Barn At Shelburne Farms is one of the most beautiful locations for a rustic Vermont wedding and this amazing real wedding from our friend, Amanda at Orchard Cove Photography showcases just how stunning this venue is. I really love every detail from this wedding but a few of the highlights for me are the unique wedding centerpieces, the rustic yet elegant wedding invitation and of course the vintage car that the carried away the bride and groom.

 The venue is so spectacular that we wanted the flowers and lighting to highlight the beauty of the location and building. Because the coach barn was built around the turn of the last century we decided to use colors that were appropriate for that time period.

We wanted the floral arrangements on the tables to be different, but integrated — so, we used different containers with small arrangements all in the same color palette.

The colors were muted and the flowers also went along with that era. We wanted to use deep purples and the rest would be muted tones like sage green, lavender and light pinks.

The bride attended the University of Vermont and was familiar with the Shelburne Farms area. She and her friends would walk trials and visit the area when she was a student at UVM. The groom also visited the area for skiing and also visited Burlington when the bride was a student. They both loved the Lake Champlain are and visited numerous times even after the bride graduated. The history of the Shelburne Farms was also intriguing to the bride and it was exactly what she wanted for a wedding backdrop.
