Our first thought when we saw these pictures was how much we loved the effortlessness of Jillian & Josh’s wedding. Their venue really spoke for itself and the blue and yellow color palette they chose could not have looked better in this rustic lakeside wedding venue. Turns out this is exactly what they were going for. This is what we heard from the Bride : Josh and I have grown up together and through all the ups and downs we have only grown closer and stronger together. We’ve both known for awhile that we were committed and “married” to each other without the wedding. When we got engaged it was a no brainer for us as to where it would be. Donner Summit/Truckee is our second home and probably where we’d like to end up some day. I grew up camping and snowboarding in the area. Josh and I are very active and spend much of our free time in the area either snowboarding, dirt bike riding, fishing, swimming, and relaxing. There is no better place in the world that better represents us! We aren’t very traditional so our wedding wasn’t either. What was most important is that it is casual and fun for everyone. I did not want any stuffy formal feelings! The theme was a casual, summer, camp mountain, rustic, vintage feel. I didn’t want to get locked down into one category. The details were eclectic and compliment the natural environment. There were few decorations because I don’t want to take away from the natural beauty of the setting. We would like to express our gratitude to Heidi Huber Photography for sharing these with us!
