March 20, 2013 at 10:56 amThe cake really is the focal point of the reception. Clearly, this cake is a showstopper that will grab the attention of all the guests immediately. The attention to detail is impeccable, and it’s almost too pretty to eat. I spent over ten minutes just staring and finding new details to drool over. However, cake can get pretty costly. I know from experience that using false tiers (where it’s actually a cardboard tier covered in real icing so it still looks to be fully functioning part of the cake) can really save you some serious dough and still give you the look you’re going for.
