Vintage Inspired Backyard Wedding: Jill + Brian

A backyard tented wedding

Backyard weddings are special for many reasons but one reason is that it seems that backyards weddings are mostly DIY style which means the couple puts in a large amount of work to make sure their day comes off the way they planned. Today I have a beautiful vintage inspired backyard wedding with tons of fun DIY wedding ideas. From the photographer: Jill and Brian were married in September at the edge of a cranberry bog in the bride’s parent’s backyard in Carver, Massachusetts. Jill is an event planner for Harvard University and while she did a huge amount of detail planning and DIY for her wedding, she was just the most gracious and happy and easy-going bride on the day of her wedding. Thanks to Wonderbliss Wedding Photography for sharing this wedding with us today.

Some features of the wedding included lots of Dahlias, everywhere! Jill planned out the table settings, with long rustic boards running through the center, burlap wrapped around mismatched vases and jars, full of thoughtful yet whimsical floral arrangements. All of this was under a tent between a Cape Cod style house and a horse stable. The guests journeyed down a wooded path, hung with colorful poms, past the stable and a wooden sign quoting song of solomon to the edge of the cranberry bog where the wedding ceremony took place.

what a sweet wedding! I’m a huge fan of dahlias (and grow them!) so the flowers are simply gorgeous. I also love this bride’s wedding dress, very pretty. Glad I came across this blog, very inspirational!
