Casual Backyard Wedding

Just because you are hosting a casual backyard wedding does not mean the day has to be void of beautiful wedding details – and this wedding is ready to prove that! From the bride: Our wedding took place on the perfect fall day in Richmond, Virginia. The ceremony was held at a church across the street from my parents’ house, and then everyone walked across the street to a backyard reception. We wanted it to have a simple, casual atmosphere that felt like a party with all of our best friends and family. Being able to host the reception in my parents’ backyard allowed us to save money, take control of all of the details, and make it special and unique to our personalities. Something that was important to us was to celebrate our incredible and supportive friends by utilizing their gifts and talents in the planning of our day. Thanks to Nicki Metcalf Photography for capturing this wonderful wedding today. Need even more inspiration for your backyard wedding – see our post on 10 Reasons To Have A Backyard Wedding.

My favorite part of the reception and wedding decor was definitely the flowers. Stacie made the most beautiful creations and arrangements that perfectly reflected my style. We ate our favorite food from a local food truck called Pizza Tonight, which added to the fun, unique atmosphere that we wanted to create. We had so much fun dancing the night away.
