Whether or not you are having an outdoor or indoor wedding reception, eucalyptus is a beautiful and fragrant way to make your wedding feel wild and natural. One of our favorite ways to incorporate eucalyptus into your wedding decor is as a table runner! The branches are easy to work, inexpensive, and are absolutely beautiful on their own or with other flowers. This runner could be used for a welcome or sweets table, to decorate a long family style table or as decor for your sweetheart table. Follow these day steps to make your own!
What You’ll Need : Scissors / Eucalyptus Branches / Floral Tape
Start by taping together single branches so that they appear to be growing out from what will be the center of your runner.
Measure your table ahead of time so that you can build in hinges where the runner will need to bend as it leaves the table top and cascades to the ground. Use the floral tape to create secure corners.
Once you have your runner together, in one long single piece, lay it out on your table that you will be using.
Add branches to cover bare spots and places where the floral tape shows. This is when you can build the fullness of your runner to the thickness you want. You may want to leave it as a single branch or extend it out in certain places by adding extra branches.
The runner will naturally bend, but how you compose it on your table is entirely up to you!
We love making ours to cascade off the ends of the table into a full bushel that falls to the ground. Once you have it finished, eel free to weave in lavender or other flowers to add to the fragrance and festivity or leave it as is for a minimalist look.
These runners photograph beautifully and will be a hit with your guests! Try one out at your next dinner party!
