I know this is a bold statement to make but I think this country chic wedding might be my favorite from this year! I love the beautiful little details like the table decorations and the flag table numbers and I think the fact that the venue is an art gallery is just so cool. This stunning wedding took place in Egg Harbor, WI at Woodwalk Art Gallery and features a very rustic yet very pretty outdoor ceremony followed by tented reception. Here is some info from the bride on why they choose this Door County WI for their wedding: The short answer is that we both vacationed there as children. Carrie’s from the Midwest and Ted’s from Connecticut, which are very different worlds, so the fact that there was a place in our pasts that we both shared felt important. Also, choosing a Door County as opposed to Brooklyn meant we could do more with our budget. Also, it’s so beautiful there in the summer it pretty much knocks us flat. Thanks to Studio Finch for sharing this wedding with us today.
We wanted something where everyone would feel comfortable. We wanted a wedding that we’d want to go to (and we’re not really formal people). When we originally conceived of it, we thought of a long summer evening of fresh food and cherry pie and lawn games and a blowout dance party in a barn that might end with people sitting around a campfire and maybe someone going skinny-dipping. In practice, that’s almost exactly what we got. We also wanted a handmade element to almost every part of the day, so that it reflected as much of us as possible, including our humor. We wanted it to be warm and inclusive and casual.
Carrie is a teacher at NYC Public Schools, and Ted is a writer. They wanted to make the wedding as DIY as possible- Carrie and Ted made the tin can decor. The menu cards were designed by Carrie, and she printed them on a wood veneer with her Gocco. Ted’s tie? Also made by Carrie!

November 29, 2013 at 9:26 pmOMG that silo barn turned into a chapel or banquet room is amazing! I’m sending this link to my Toronto wedding planners (http://impresarioevents.ca/) right now to see if they can find something like this in or around Toronto. Incredible.
