Creating the perfect photo prop at your wedding helps to ensure that you get some unique and one-of-a-kind wedding photos. If you are anything like the creative couples we have featured here on the blog, I bet you too are thinking of having a wedding day photo prop. To help you narrow down what you think you might want to incorporate to your wedding day we have come up with a list of 10 great photo prop ideas. Remember, a photo prop is there to enhance your wedding images not takeover the image so don’t over do it with items that will take center stage. Some of my favorite items are bikes, frames, trucks and natural surroundings!
1. Bike
A fun looking vintage or new bike makes for the perfect wedding day photo prop. This couple used it several different ways at their southern country wedding and we love how it looked! A bike is also a wonderful wedding theme so think about making it a bigger part of your day!
2. Truck
Trucks are the perfect photo prop for a country rustic wedding because they can be dressed up or dressed down to match your wedding day decor. If you are thinking of having a truck at your wedding you will want to check out our Pinterest board dedicated just to trucks at weddings!
3. Hay Bales
A classic country wedding backdrop are hay bales so why not make them apart of your wedding day. Looking for some ideas how you can work hay bales in to your wedding – see our 10 Ways To Use Hay Bales At Your Wedding post.
4. Classic Car
Ask your family and friends who might have a vintage car available for loan on your wedding day and you might just be in luck with what you find. A classic car makes the perfect photo prop! Don’t have a classic car just sitting around in your garage? Get the word out to friends and family, you might be surprised that someone says yes, to you enjoying their classic ride.
5. Vintage Chair
Renting vintage furniture for your wedding day is one way to ensure that you have a great photo prop. If you are looking for a vintage rental company than head over to our Rustic Wedding Guide where you can search vintage rental companies by state! Many brides go with just a white chair BUT you have a great opportunity to work in a pop of color by having a brightly colored chair in your photos.
6. Balloons
You might not think of balloons as a wedding day prop but we are not talking about just your regular old party balloons we are talking about beautiful oversized speciality balloons. See how this couple used balloons as a prop at their wedding.
7. Frames
No matter how you display them, frames make for a great and inexpensive photo prop. Frames can be found everywhere from craft stores to thrift stores and can pull double duty as decorations and photo props.
8. Nature
Since you are hosting a rustic style wedding you might as well use all that beautiful nature in your wedding photos. Work with your photographer before the wedding and scout some locations at your wedding venue that work as natural backdrop. Everything from sunsets and lakes to woods and leaves can make for a rustic photo prop.
9. Teepee
Okay, we know not everyone is going to have the chance to use a teepee as a photo prop but we think this wedding shows just how fun one can look. If you are hosting your wedding at a private venue like your home you might want to think about getting a teepee for both a fun wedding decoration and a photo prop.
10. Boat
Very few things are as romantic as taking a boat ride so why not work it in to your wedding day? If you are hosting your wedding lakeside think about spending a few minutes post ceremony in a boat so your photographer can capture the moment.
